Hot and Spicy Nuts

Hot and Spicy Nuts are easy to prepare and are a great gift.

What you need
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
2 cups raw nuts (peanuts, cashews, almonds, or macadamia nuts)
1 tablespoon cooking oil

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  • Stir together coriander, cumin, salt and pepper, and red pepper in a small bowl; set aside.
  • Place nuts in a 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
  • Drizzle nuts with oil, stirring to coat.
  • Sprinkle with spice mixture; toss lightly.
  • Bake in preheated oven about 20 minutes or until lightly toasted, stirring once or twice.
  • Cool in pan for 15 minutes.
  • Turn out onto paper towels; cool completely.
  • Store covered, in a cool place.

This recipe makes two cups.

This would be a great gift for that person that loves spicy foods. It would also make a great snack to have out for people to munch on during a holiday party.
